David Allen Darnell

David Allen Darnell Sr., 85, of Humble, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. He was born on Monday, April 23, 1928 in Houston, Texas to Rufus Lee and Justine Elizabeth (Sharpley) Darnell, both of whom have preceded him in death. David was also preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Marie Darnell; children Johnnie Beatrice Lytton, Vernon Ray Darnell and Donald Lee Darnell; sisters Sarah Wiley and Nell Ross; grandchild Megan Buchanan. Left to cherish his memory is his loving family, daughters Deidre Darnell, Lynne Cheri Buchanan and husband Mark; sisters Bertha Ross, Linda Darnell and Kathy Darnell Bodenhamer and husband Howard Lee; grandchildren Anna Link, Elizabeth Bayless and Larry Lytton, Tommie Darnell, Austin and Chance Buchanan, Allen Tidwell and Vernon Darnell Jr. along with numerous, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren along with many other loving family and treasured friends. David was a carpenter and a long-time fireman for the city of Houston, a loving father and friend, and he will truly be missed. Visitation for David will be held at Neal Funeral Home, Sunday January 26, 2014 10 am to 2 pm; funeral service to immediately follow at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery, Holly Grove , TX. All services were handled under the trusted care of Neal Funeral Home.
