Acie Allen Penton, 53 went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 01, 2015 in Ipswich, Massachusetts. He was born in Houston, Texas on October 11, 1962, and was proud to be native Texan.
Acie was a citizen of the Plum Grove community, where he was recently appointed to be their mayor. He attended Cleveland High School where he played football and gained a multitude of life- long friends. Acie joined the ranks of the Houston Fire Department in October 1985 serving as a firefighter and paramedic. He retired from the department in December 2001.
Acie never met a stranger in his life; he had jokes, stories, expressions and songs like no other. He had many hobbies and talents that kept him busy from coaching and umpiring little league baseball to hunting whitetail in the cottonwoods. He loved his family, his community, and his years of service to the Houston Fire Department.
Acie is preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Bo" and Celesta "Oleta" (Nolen) Penton; grandparents, Wilma and Acie Nolen, Allen A. and Julie (Bonin) Penton.
Acie was a devoted father, brother and friend. He is survived by his loving son, Joshua Beau Penton, his sister, Lee Ann Penton-Walker and husband Rodney, niece Chanel Walker-Rawls and husband Jason; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and treasured friends. He was loved by all that knew him, he will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Friday, November 6th, from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Neal Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Plum Grove on Saturday, November 7th, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Plum Grove Cemetery.
