Agnes Inez King, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024, in Cleveland, Texas, at the age of 92. She was born on April 28, 1932, in Waco, Texas. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and warmth that she shared with everyone around her.
Agnes was a nurturing soul whose greatest joy was found in caring for her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. Her heart swelled with pride as she participated in their lives, offering guidance and support while creating memories that would last a lifetime. She filled her home with love and joy, often entertaining family and friends with her passion for music. Agnes had a special liking for movies and musicals such as "Cats." Her love for the arts extended to her time spent in the choir, where she found community and connection through song.
A lover of the written word, Agnes spent countless hours engrossed in books, savoring stories told by authors like Robert Frost. She also enjoyed engaging her mind with crossword puzzles and trivia. The beauty of nature often captured her heart, especially in the form of her favorite flower; bird of paradise.
Agnes's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and strengthening her spirit. She was a faithful servant who touched the lives of those around her with kindness and compassion.
She is survived by her loving children, Lawrence Gene Evans and his wife Diana, and Joni Lyn Henry and her husband Mark; as well as her Son-in-love, Tommy Carter. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, including Buddy Cully, Christy Fulkerson, Blenda May, Michelle Evans, Stephanie Evans, Jennifer Evans, Rebecca Lyn Moore, and Christopher Allen Henry. She reveled in the joy of her 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, each holding a special place in her heart. Agnes is also survived by her sister, Evelyn Parker, and her beloved nieces, Sharon Tosh, Ruthie Miller, Vicki Parker, and Linda Parker.
She is now reunited with her husband, Jim Lawson King, her parents August Nussman and Frankie Inez Rae, her stepfather, Floyd Rae, her daughter, Brenda Sue Carter, and her son, James Stockton Evans (Jimmy). Their spirits will undoubtedly welcome her with open arms in the peace of eternity. Agnes Inez King’s legacy will live on through the love she provided during her time with us. She will be profoundly missed but forever cherished in the hearts and memories of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
