Alexander Ellwood Lord, Jr. passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016, he was born on Monday, August 20, 1934 in Cameron, Texas to Alexander E. Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Easley) Lord, both of whom have preceded him in death. Alex was also preceded in death by his sister Mary Carolyn (Lord) Blanda and his niece Laura Ann (Blanda) Takata; first wife, Carroll Ann (Lord) Bell and son, Michael Edward Lord. He is survived by Michaels children, Alyshia Kay Lord, Michele Moldenhour and husband Chris; their children Coral Anise and Finn; Murray and his children, Blair and Zachary, Alexandra Lee Amador, her children, Aryelle Amador, Emily Noelle Watkins and children Marley and Macy. Alex's sister Carolyn had two children, Paul Joseph Blanda Jr. and Mary Lynn Blanda Mochel. Alex is blessed to have his loving wife Marilyn (Hageman) Lord of 37 years to cherish is memory along with their children, Michael Hayes and wife Cathie, their kids Kayla, Holly and Garrett; Wendy (Hayes) Landman and husband Marius, their kids, Zachary and Joshua, Tami (Hayes) Danysh and husband Joe, their kids, Christin, Courtney, Jay, Charles and Joey, Cheri (Hayes) Loving and husband James, their kids James, Macy and Shelby.
Alexander graduated in 1952 from Thomas Jefferson High, Port Arthur Texas where he was and Intramural Letterman, a member of the Spanish Club and achieved his ranking as an Eagle Scout.
He graduated from Texas A&M College with a BA in Industrial Education in 1957, he was also a member of the Corp and Choir.
In 1957, Alex like his father, went to work for Gulf Oil Corp. starting in accident prevention at the Port Arthur refinery. During his tenure with Gulf/Chevron, he worked as a Safety Trainer, Manager of Corp. Training and Human Relations. Alex worked in many different geographical locations within the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Alex retired from Chevron in Houston.
Alex proudly served his country in both the Army and the Army Reserves for over 30 years, from 1957 he was on Federal Active Duty during the Vietnam War, until his retirement in 1982 from the Army Reserves, Quartermaster Corps, as a Lieutenant Colonel.
