Arnold A. J. Vann

Arnold J. (A. J.) Vann, 78, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014. He was born on Sunday, February 9, 1936 in Magnolia Community, Texas, to Floyd Riley Vann and Annie Lee Jeffcoat-Vann, both of whom have preceded him in death. A. J. was also preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Riley Vann; sister, Bula Mae Hinson, Alice Murray, and Faye Lilley. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 53 years Judy C. Vann of Cleveland, Texas. Sons are Carl Vann of Roman Forest and Allen Vann and wife Christa of Evergreen. Surviving brothers, William Cleo Vann and wife Bobby, Horace Wilbur Vann and wife Elizabeth; sister, Mattie Richards; grandchildren, Caitlin Rose Vann and Will Allen Vann and mother of his grandchildren Merry Holmes Vann. A. J. left behind numerous other loving nieces, nephews, extended family and treasured friends.
As an active member of The Magnolia Baptist Church he served with his wife Judy as leaders in the children's ministry. A. J. was a dedicated employee in the elevator industry where he retired after 25 years of service.
Visitation for A. J. will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the Magnolia Cemetery. Brother Carl Williamson, Officiating.
