Aubrey Jay Flowers, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend passed away on November 28, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on May 14, 1951, in Cleveland Texas, Aubrey's life was marked by love, laughter, and a steadfast commitment to his family and community.

A U.S. Army Veteran, Aubrey served his country during the Vietnam War. His dedication did not end there; he was also an active member of the VFW Post #1839 in Cleveland, where he found friendship and support among fellow veterans. Aubrey's military service instilled in him values of loyalty and resilience, qualities that defined much of his life.

Aubrey was a retired pipe fitter and operator, a vocation he approached with the same diligence he applied in all aspects of his life. He had a passion for working with his hands and took pride in a job well done. Beyond his work, Aubrey cherished the simple pleasures of life. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, relishing the tranquility of nature. Bowling was another outlet for his competitive spirit, where he excelled and made lasting friendships.

Aubrey’s love for life extended to his cherished 2000 Ford Mustang, a symbol of his adventurous spirit and appreciation for fine craftsmanship. He had a great sense of humor, often seen as a jokester who brought smiles to the faces around him with his stories and playful personality. An excellent pool player, Aubrey was as skilled with a cue as he was at sharing laughter and joy.

Aubrey had a deep affection for animals, particularly his beloved dog, Duke, who brought him countless moments of happiness. His fondness for food was matched only by his enthusiasm for games, especially dominoes and cards, where he could be found strategizing and engaging in friendly competition with family and friends. Always opinionated, Aubrey had strong views that he shared candidly, contributing to many memorable conversations.

He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Roxy Flowers; his children, Daniel Nicholson and wife Annette, and Jacob Nicholson and partner Jocelyn Marks. He leaves behind three sisters, Helen Genita McAdams, Wanda Kay Kidd and husband James, and Maudie Faye Flowers. Aubrey cherished his role as a grandfather to Aidan Nicholson, who held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends who will remember him fondly.

Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Edward Flowers and Maudie Ray Turner; as well as his brothers, Edward Ray Flowers, Frank Edwin Flowers, Paul DeWayne Flowers, Billy Mack Flowers, and Joseph Flowers; and his sisters, Reba Juanita Flowers, Addie Laverne Flowers, and Neva Jean Flowers. Their memories live on in the hearts and stories shared by those who knew and loved Aubrey.

In this time of sorrow, those who were blessed to know Aubrey can take comfort in the warmth of the countless memories created over the years. His legacy of love, humor, and strength will continue to inspire and uplift those he leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Aubrey; you have touched so many lives, and your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
