Barbara Ann Jones

Barbara Ann Jones, 79, of Cleveland, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015. She was born on Tuesday, September 15, 1936 in Conroe, Texas to Ben Buckalew and Earnestine Donovan Buckalew. Barbara was noted as the first student to attend Splendora ISD that never missed a day of school or was never tardy from 1st grade through 12 grade. She was ranked in the top 10 of her class, but there were only 10 in her class!! She was also the first lady in the State of Texas to hold the title "Chief Sanitarian", where she was employed with the City of Houston for 42 years. Barbara was also preceded in death by her parents, Dewey & Lyda Burkett, Ben Buckalew and Jackie Puckett; brother, David Buckalew; sister, Patsy Buckalew; granddaughter, Kimmi Ann Shearer. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 58 years Billy Ray Jones; daughters, Terri Taylor and husband Bo, Jackie Scott and husband David Lee; granddaughter, Angi Martin and husband Casey; grandson, Bryan Rohrer and wife Jaime; Great Grandchildren, Haydin Martin, Brady Rohrer, Frank Martin, Judd Rohrer; along with numerous other loving family and treasured friends. Visitation for Barbara will be held at Neal Funeral Home on December 8, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services for Barbara will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 10:00 am. Interment for Barbara will immediately follow at Morgan Cemetery. Bro.
