Cleveland

Betty Ann Bowman, a beloved soul with a heart the size of Texas, passed away on August 2, 2024, at her residence in Cleveland, Texas, where she had resided for 52 years. Betty was born on February 13, 1947, in Channelview, Texas. Her life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, determination, and kindness.

In her journey through life, Betty embarked on various paths. She began her career humbly as a grocery bagger before eventually becoming an Engraver Exxon. Her hard work and dedication shone brightly in all that she pursued.

Betty's proudest accomplishments included not only her successful career but also the profound joy she found in being a mother to her son Shelton Wayne Bowman. Their bond was unbreakable, serving as a testament to the depth of their love. She was also a cherished member of The Eastern Star, where she formed lasting bonds with those who shared her values and principles.

Her hobbies and interests painted a picture of a vibrant spirit - from hunting and fishing to crafting furniture and even achieving the remarkable feat of harvesting the largest buck in Liberty County, Texas, and winning a 30-30 rifle. Her favorite colors were blue and purple, and she held a special place in her heart for yellow roses.

Betty is preceded in death by her father J.L. Morse and mother Ruth Morse. She is survived by her loving son Shelton Wayne Bowman and his wife Pamela, carrying on her legacy with grace and honor. Betty leaves behind her sisters Ruth Johnson (Gene) and Kathy Gaston (Mike), who will hold dear the memories they shared together.

The light of Betty's life continues to shine through her grandchildren Tiffany Roberts (Justin), April Minchew (Jeffrey), Hope Bunyard, Rebecca Bunyard; great-grandchildren Katelynn Roberts, Peyton Roberts, Leighton Minchew, Kylee Minchew, Parker Thario; alongside numerous other cherished family members and treasured friends whose lives were touched by her warmth and affection.

Services to honor and celebrate Betty's life will be held at Neal Funeral Home located at 200 S Washington Ave in Cleveland, Texas. A visitation will take place on August 5, 2024, starting at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service on August 6, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Her obituary would not be complete without the mention of a "Tall Drink of Water" also known as Alan Jackson, her most cherished singer.
