Brian Edward Howard, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 07, 2016, in Los Angeles, California. He was born on Monday, April 16, 1956 in Denver, Colorado. Brian is preceded in death by his mother Verona Kebba and his stepfather Ed Kebba. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Bobbie Howard; son, Ryan Singler; father, Thomas Howard; sister, Julie Loder; brother, John Kebba and wife Cynthia; niece Kayleigh; nephews, William and Benjamin; best friend Mark Schuette and wife Melodie; and the many treasured friends Brian met along the way. He was a resident of Soldotna, Alaska, informally for twenty years and formally for the last three. He previously lived in Hawaii, Denver and Kingwood. He was in the United States Navy before graduating from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Management. He retired from Continental Airlines after twenty-three years. He was an experienced traveler, expert fisherman and an excellent sailor. Brian loved people and the wonders of nature. He was most happy rowing his many friends down the famous Kenai river on his cataraft. He taught many how to enjoy life outdoors. He was a patient teacher of his craft. Many wanted to emulate Brian. We now understand there will only be one Brian Howard. This world is not the same without him. He touched so many lives. He was an inspiration to so many.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Neal Funeral Home on Saturday, April 23, 2016. Friends will begin gathering at 4:00 p.m. The service will commence at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kachemak Bay Conservation Society, sponsor of Salmonfest, at www.kbayconservation.org.
