Calvin Clark Newbaker Jr. entered into rest on August 11, 2024, at 78 years old. He was born on August 23, 1945, to his loving parents Calvin Clark Newbaker Sr. and Betty McDougald.

In his early years, Calvin found true happiness in spending time with his family. He cherished moments taking his children skiing and on boating adventures, gathering around the BBQ pit, and preparing delicious meals for his loved ones. Calvin was a dedicated entrepreneur who owned and operated his own deer processing business, "County Line Deer and Hog," for an impressive 25 years.

Calvin proudly served his country in the Army and bravely dedicated his time to serving in Vietnam. His commitment and sacrifices during his military service will always be remembered and honored.

Throughout his life, Calvin found joy in his hobbies and passions. He had a deep love for old cars and often went to car shows, where he could indulge in his fascination for vintage automobiles. His strong work ethic was evident to all who knew him, as he poured his heart and soul into everything he did. Calvin also enjoyed teasing his wife, Jan, about each other's middle names.

Calvin's warmth and kindness extended beyond his professional and personal pursuits. His gentle demeanor and compassionate nature touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Calvin is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Jan Saunders; his children, Wendy Dunn and husband Michael, Calvin Clark Newbaker III and wife Brook, and Jeff Saunders and wife Michelle. He is also survived by his sister, Laverne, and many grandchildren - Brian, McKay, Reagan, Emily, Aaron, Jordan, Kennadi, Megan, Grady, Savannah, Justin, and Jessica - along with six great-grandchildren and one more great-grandchild on the way.

In his eternal rest, Calvin reunites with his father, Calvin Clark Newbaker Sr., and mother, Betty McDougald; his son, Buck Newbaker, and his sister, Lera Chandley. Their spirits intertwine with his, and their cherished memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A visitation for Calvin will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home 200 S. Washington Ave. Cleveland, TX 77327, at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. An interment will follow at 1:15 PM at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX.
