Shepherd, Texas

Daniel David Baecker, Jr., a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on October 28, 1956, Daniel lived a life rich with experiences, deep relationships, and unwavering faith in the Lord.

Daniel's career path was one marked by entrepreneurship and resilience. He began his professional journey at Vetco Oil Co., where he honed his skills before transitioning to driving a wrecker after the company shut down. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to open a bar and a security company on South Padre Island, Texas, where he became an integral part of the community. Daniel's passion for serving others was evident in all his pursuits, reflecting the faithful servant he was.

Family was the cornerstone of Daniel's life. He shared a loving marriage with Wanda Lynn Baecker for 40 years, a partnership filled with mutual respect and affection. Together, they built a beautiful family that includes their beloved children, Joshua Baecker, Gene Baecker, and Jason Baecker, who is married to Mary. Daniel took immense pride in his grandchildren, Evelyn Baecker and Gavi Baecker, and cherished every moment spent watching them participate in various sports, just as he had enjoyed supporting his own boys in their athletic pursuits.

Daniel also leaves behind a close-knit family, including his brother, David Baecker, and sister-in-law, Joyce; sisters, Dana Cantrell and her husband Bobby, and Denise Hernandez and her husband Tony. He is mourned by numerous nieces, nephews, additional family members, and a host of friends who were fortunate to know his kind and generous spirit.

A great bowler, Daniel achieved remarkable feats on the lanes, boasting three remarkable scores of 300. He will also be remembered for his love of sports, particularly his enthusiasm for watching the Astros play. In quieter moments, he found solace in cuddling with his dog Ella and enjoying, in the morning, his delicious chocolate milk and donuts. He loved eating BBQ, these were some of the simple pleasures that brought him great joy.

Daniel is predeceased by his parents, Daniel David Baecker, Sr. and Evelyn Ella "Toman" Baecker, as well as his sister, Deborah Stukey. Their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

As we reflect on Daniel's life, we celebrate a man whose commitment to family, love for sports, and unwavering faith impacted everyone around him. His legacy will continue to thrive through the generations he leaves behind.
