Her commitment to serving her community extended beyond her professional life; she was a faithful servant to The Lord. She served many terms as a member of the Shepherd ISD School Board. Essie was actively involved in her church as both a missionary and a Sunday school teacher, sharing her love and devotion with countless individuals. She was blessed to be a Bible scholar, continuously taught and helped others to understand the Word of God. An exceptional cook, she was known for her culinary skills, often bringing joy and warmth to family gatherings through her delicious meals.
