Gerald Wayne "PeePaw" Ferguson, a beloved figure in the lives of many, went to be with his Heavenly Father on September 3, 2024. Born on September 9, 1938, in Paris, Texas, Gerald lived a life of hard work and dedication, exemplifying what it meant to provide for his family. A retired superintendent at Young Contractors, he was known to be a workaholic, always striving to ensure his loved ones had everything they needed. His commitment extended beyond his profession; Gerald was a faithful servant to the Lord, embodying the values of love and compassion throughout his life.
Gerald's family meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He took great pride in his children, Ricky Ferguson and his wife Stacey, Theresa Neveu, Andrew Ferguson, and Jennifer Gloria Swanner and her husband Adam. The legacy of his love continues through his sister, Donna Ferguson Baer, and even more so through his grandchildren, each holding a special place in his heart: Kyle Ferguson, Kenlee Bond, Kamryn Bond, Kathleen Patterson, Kyndall Ferguson, Peyton Ferguson, Hayden Ferguson, Connor Neveu, and Colin Neveu. Gerald also found immense joy in being a great-grandfather to Sawyer Ferguson and Elliana Ferguson, who brought light to his days.
Though he relished the bonds he created during his lifetime, Gerald felt a profound loss in the absence of his cherished wife, Aileen Ferguson, who preceded him in death. Their love story left an indelible mark on his heart, and he missed her dearly. Gerald was also preceded in death by his parents, Otis Leon Ferguson and Dorothy Lucreitia Lewis; brother, Charles Edward Ferguson; sisters, Virginia Walker, Shirley Faye Ferguson McCarty, and Sarah Helen Ferguson Lands, each of whom shaped his journey in their own way.
As we remember Gerald Wayne "PeePaw" Ferguson, we honor a man who worked diligently, loved deeply, and served honorably in the United States Army. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication and affection that will continue to inspire those who knew him. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during Gerald's visitation on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, held at Neal Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery located in Bryan, TX.
Gerald's warmth, spirit, and devotion to family will be missed profoundly, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
