Geraldine Faye Nelson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, in Galveston, Texas, at the age of 88. Born on February 17, 1937, in Hope, Arkansas, Geraldine dedicated her life to both her family and her work.

She devoted 21 years of her career to Southwestern Bell as an operator, where her contributions were recognized by all who worked alongside her. Following that, she served as the Post Master at the Romayor Post Office for 19 years, a position that reflected her commitment to her community and her strong sense of service.

Geraldine was known for her deep love for her family and her unwavering faith. She was a faithful servant to the Lord, embodying kindness and devotion that inspired those around her. Her enduring spirit touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories that will be held close by her loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Walter Nelson Jr. and wife Trish Gardner, Jerri Lynn Forrest, Janice Ann Hosea and husband James, Junior Canales and wife Belinda. Geraldine's legacy also includes her grandchildren, Walter Nelson III, Jack Nichols III and wife Lana, Charles Hill and Kayla, James Hosea, Dewayne Werner, Virginia Nelson, Stephanie Bunyard, Casey Chandler, Amanda Richmond and husband Chris, and Elliana Gardner; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Nelson, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years; her parents, John Clinton Warmath and Flora May "Valery" Warmath; her brothers, Buford Bratton, Jack Bratton, and Alfred Bratton; her sister, Margie Nelson; her granddaughter, Chrisie Harrington; and her great-grandson, Michaels Nettles.

Geraldine Faye Nelson's life was a beautiful testimony to love, faith, and dedication. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
