Hazel Francis Moore, 93, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Shepherd, Texas. Hazel was born Monday, December 2, 1918, in Lawton, Oklahoma to Francis and Velma Phillips Moore, both of whom have preceded her in death. Hazel was also preceded in death by her son Francis James Holtke. Left to cherish her memory is her loving grandchildren; Dean Holtha and Dorie Holtka; dear friend and caregiver, Lydia Lozano. Hazel was dedicated to her community and her Country, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary of Texas. She was a nurse in World War II and helped to save many of our soldiers' lives. She was a founding member of the Cleveland Senior Citizens organization which she helped to receive their Charter in June of 1980. Hazel was awarded numerous certificates for her unselfish volunteer work with the Texas Department of the Aging and The American Red Cross. Ms. Hazel was a remarkable women, the last time she helped the American Red Cross was during hurricane Katrina, she was loved by all that knew her and will truly be missed. All services were handled under the trusted care of Neal Funeral Home.
