Howard R. Farris, 71, of Shepherd, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014. He was born on Monday, December 28, 1942 in Mercedes, Texas to Floyd and Marjorie (Steck) Farris, both of whom have preceded him in death. Howard was also preceded in death by his spouse Maria Farris; brothers, Roy and Robert Farris; and his granddaughter, Samantha Farris; Left to cherish his memory is his beloved family, daughters, Tammy Richardson and husband Timmy and Jeri Smith; brothers, James Farris and wife Wanda, and Billy Farris; sisters, Sarah Jackson and husband Dwane, Dee Lykins, Jeannie Rhoden and husband Frank and Velma Hengst; 3 grandchildren, Robin Baxter and husband David, Stephen Smith and Ricky Owens; 1 great-grandchild, Dawson Baxter; along with numerous other loving family and treasured friends. The family will receive family and friends at Neal Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.; the Service will commence promptly at 7:00.
