Jackie "Jack" Thomas earned his wings today, Tuesday, April 2, 2013 and was rewarded with a flight to Heaven accompanied by Jesus. He was born in Silver Point, TN on Wednesday, March 16, 1938, to Winfield and Nola (Roberts) Thomas both of whom have preceded him. He was raised in Lebannon TN and attended Lebannon High School where he excelled as an athlete in football, basketball and track.He joined the Army where he served as an MP. He also went on a military rescue mission into the Belgian Congo, Africa to rescue a family of missionaries. He later worked for SECAB/SHIPCO in Houston, TX and went on to open his own export crating company, Systems Packing. After retirement ended (he got bored) he "ran parts" for Anderson Ford in Cleveland, TX. Jack considered his family his greatest joy and accomplishment. He loved being a part of his church Amazing Grace, located in Cleveland, TX. He leaves behind his soul mate and best friend of 53 years, his wife, Juanita Thomas; one son David Thomas of Houston, TX.; daughters, Lynn and (Paul) Peery of Kilgore, TX., Cindy and (Tom) Lucas of Splendora, TX.; granddaughter MacKenzie of Waco, TX.; grandson, Candler Lucas of Splendora, TX.; granddaughter and great- granddaughter, Alecia and Kaylee of Kilgore, TX. ; great- granddaughter "on her way" Ryleigh Ann of Waco, TX; two brothers, George and (Patty), of Cookeville, TX. and Paul of Mt. Juliet, TN.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Bonnie Hughes, of Willis, TX. and Herman Constable of Caldwell, TX. Numerous nieces and nephews; his special niece, Kathleen Doucette and (Larry) of Spring, TX.; treasured friends, Darrell and Lanelle Jeffcoat of Cleveland, TX., Estelle Maxwell of Waller, TX., Annie and Marcelano Mendoza, of Cleveland, TX.; Many other loving family and friends. The family would like to extend a special, " Thank You" to his friend Robert Jeffcoat for such loving care in his final months and his Pastor Monty Odom for his endless care in his final days.
