James Niel Harvey

James Niel Harvey (aka: Jim, Daddy, PaPa, O'Pa), 80, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 in Tomball, Texas. He was born on August 17, 1933 in Lufkin, Texas to Carroll Harvey and Ruby Lee White. He retired after a long career from Dresser Industries.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Sandra Kay Jones. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Martha Pearl Harvey and two sisters, Nancy Smith and Betty Sprayberry, two daughters, Jacqueline Harvey and Leta Shideler, grandchildren, Danny Ray, Evan, Robbie, Danielle, Joshua, Jacob and great-grandsons, Wyatt and Jameson.
Jim was a man of his word, honest and hard working, a loving father and grandfather. He thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren, the horses and his sports. His grandchildren will never forget the starburst sweets and candies he "gifted" during family gatherings; his children (and friends) will never forget his famous cheese dip!
A memorial gathering will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Neal Funeral Home, 200 S. Washington Ave. Cleveland, TX (281)592-2341.
