James Elbert McCowan

James Elbert McCowan, 85, of Splendora, Texas, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017. He was born on Friday, September 16, 1932, in Conroe, Texas, to Tresvan Elbert McCowan and Annie Ola Foster, whom have preceded him in death. James was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert McCowan, Tommy McCowan; sisters, Bessie Houck, Mary Seat, and Maxine Whaley. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Susie Mae McCowan; daughter, Brenda Darlene Reid and husband Randy; son & daughter-in-law, James Edward McCowan and wife Cathy; grandchildren, James Edward McCowan, Jr. and wife Johnie, Kimberly Ann Luna and husband Anthony, Trelisa Maher and fiance' Wayne, Kansas Senn; great-grandchildren, Olivia Kenton, James Edward McCowan, III, Haley Ubernoski, Savannah Luna, Katriena Luna, Michael Maher, Cheyenne Maher, Colby Hale, Gavin Senn, Emalyn Senn, and Jacob Senn; great-great-grandchildren, Owen Kenton, and Osalynn Kenton; along with numerous other loving family and treasured friends. Visitation for James will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services for James will be commence at 2:00 pm. Interment for James will immediately follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Pastor Larry Riggins officiating.
