James Washburn

James Washburn, 69, of Shepherd, Texas passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013. He was born on Thursday, March 16, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Russell Alva Washburn and Jeanette Weigand-Washburn, both of whom have preceded him in death. James was also preceded in death by his wife's parents, Jack and Dimple Deaton. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years Jacqulyn Louisa Washburn; sons, Jim Washburn, Scott Washburn and wife Ashley, Jeff Washburn and wife Amanda, Sam Washburn and wife Jenni; brothers, Larry Washburn and wife Bette Sue, Charlie Washburn and wife Janice; grandchildren, Justin, Katie, Amy, Trey, Sydney, Sadie, Hayden, Ava, Sara and Deaton Washburn; brother-in-law, Dennis Deaton; sister-in-law, Kathleen Neuman and husband Raymond; former daughter in laws, Kathy Washburn and Kris Washburn; along with numerous other loving family and treasured friends. James Washburn was a former County Surveyor for both Harris and San Jacinto Counties. James was a loving husband, affectionate father and fun-loving paw paw; he was loved by many and will forever be missed. His legacy of being a great father will live on through his sons. Visitation for James will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Interment for James will immediately follow at Farley Chapel Cemetery. Officiating, Brother Preston Baker. All services were handled under the trusted care of Neal Funeral Home.
