Janie Valdez Cruz

Janie Valdez Cruz, 93, of Shepherd, Texas passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016, in Texas City, Texas. She was born on Tuesday, May 16, 1922 in Devine, Texas to Pedro Valdez and Virginia Davila-Valdez, both of whom have preceded her in death. Janie was also preceded in death by spouse, Jim S. Navarro, Jr., children Mark Anthony James and Alicia Pizano; brothers, Frank and John Valdez and sister Maria Garza. Left to cherish her memory is her loving children, Janie Gonzalez, Larry Vasquez, Rosalie Morgan, Michael James and Leticia Delgado; beloved grandchildren, Virgina Zavala, San Juanita V. Jimenez, Osmin Valdez, Evelyn Ramirez, Peter Valdez, Desiree Valdez, Dominque Valdez, Jordan McCumber, Shelby James, Dominic James, Zackery James, Lisa Galvan, Jose Pizano, Emilio Curiel and Misty Salazar, 34 great grandchildren; numerous other loving family and treasured friends. Family and friends will gather at the Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas for a graveside service on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
