Joe Oliver Carr

Joe Oliver Carr, 68, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018. He was born on Sunday, January 22, 1950, in Shepherd, Texas to Reece Carr, Jr. and wife Ada Faye, both of whom have preceded him in death. "Po Joe" was a diligent and gracious provider for his family, spending over 35 years working for Union Tank Car Co. in Cleveland, TX until retirement in 2011.
In addition to his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by his sister Bernice Carr, and brother Rodger Carr. Left to cherish his memory is his loving spouse Suellyn Carr; daughters, LaQuitha Carr-Martin and husband LaTrace Jerome, LaShonda Carr-Johnson and husband Carlos; brother, Clinten Carr and wife Walterine; sister, Jackie Carr; beloved aunt, Iona Carr-Scott; grandchildren, LaQuana Martin, LaQuencia Martin, Kevrin Johnson and Tavion Johnson, and great-grandchildren, Ty-Keem Edmonson, Jr. and JaKaiden King. His memory will live on in the hearts of his many other family members and numerous treasured friends.
The visitation for Joe Oliver Carr will be held at Lake Station Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, May 26, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral Services will also be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Lake Station Missionary Baptist Church at 12:00 p.m. Interment for Joe will immediately follow at Lake Station Cemetery in Shepherd, TX. Pastor Darryl W. Richardson will be officiating.
