John Albert Thornton, 67, of Splendora, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017. He was born on Monday, February 20, 1950, in Conroe, Texas to James Melvin Thornton and Wanna Love (Collins) Thornton. John was preceded in death by his loving father, James Melvin Thornton. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 48 years, Edna Lorraine Thornton; loving daughter, Sheila Valentine and husband Vance; loving son, Richie Thornton and wife Vicki; loving mother, Wanna Love (Collins) Thornton; loving brothers, James Thornton and wife Patty, and Jeff Thornton and wife Tonya; loving sister, Rita Seals and husband Victor; loving grandchildren, Scotty Ely, Victoria Biggers, Samantha Valentine, Avery Thornton, Addison Thornton, and Aubree Thornton; loving great-grandchildren, Beckham Valentine, Wesley Ely, Maisyn Biggers, and Camryn Biggers; along with numerous other loving family and treasured friends.
