Jose Guadalupe Montanez has always been a cherished member of the Channelview, Texas community. He passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 39. Born on December 6, 1985, in Channelview, Texas. Jose dedicated his life to hard work and an unwavering love for his family and friends. He inherited his dad’s work ethic, his mom’s selflessness, his great grandma Doña Socorro’s faith in God and his great grandpa Don Luis’s love for life. As a little boy he was continuously recognized for having perfect attendance. This was early proof that he would grow up to be reliable. Jose was kind to everyone he met and a walking, living example of what loving one another should look like.

Jose worked as a landscaper and a foreman at The White Elephant Flea market, where he made a countless number of friends. He took immense pride in every project he undertook, ensuring that his work reflected his values and dedication. Jose loved working on trucks, which brought him great joy. Jose also loved music and enjoyed singing at family events. His joy was simply contagious and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his beloved spouse Nikita, better known as Kiki with whom he shared 11 years of love and marriage, his devoted parents, Domingo and Chayo, as well as his children, Heriberto and Irene. His entire life he was a selfless loving brother to Maria Elena, Ricky, Marcos and Evelin. He loved all his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. One of his favorite things to do was to buy them Christmas presents. Jose had a profound impact on the lives of many, including numerous loving relatives and a host of friends.

Jose will be remembered for his unwavering kindness as he was kind to every person he met. His love for his family, his dedication to hard work and the undeniable mark he left on all those who had the honor to call him a friend. His kind spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.

Jose gave so much of himself to everyone around him, we hope in some way we can honor him by simply trying to be more like him. He taught us all what true love is as a son, husband, father, brother and friend. We ask you to continue lifting him and his family in prayer.
