Judy Kay Desormeaux, born on December 14, 1946, in Beaumont, Texas, in Jefferson County entered eternal rest on January 6, 2025. Judy was a beloved member of her family and cherished by many friends. Her warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born and raised in High Land, Texas, Judy would later meet and marry the love of her life, Jay Roy Desormeaux of New Iberia, LA, on September 12, 1969. Judy lived a full life with her husband as a devoted housewife and a faithful servant to God. Together, they raised their three loving children: Tiffany, Kevin, and Todd.
Known for her amazing gumbo, Judy cooked many delicious meals for her family and friends. Countless times, Judy created pots of this “savory dish” in her kitchen to serve others. She made sure they were nourished by its flavor and enjoyment.
Judy gave her talent of singing with her husband to the Kingdom of God throughout the years. She had a devoted prayer life and was sure to instill that into her children. Judy and Jay built many houses together, many times working until late into the night. Memories of traveling with her husband and others were also a great part of her life. Trips to the mountains were always her favorite.
Judy is survived by her three sisters, Gloria Jean Primeaux, Cheryl Lynn Foreman, and Patricia Ann Primeaux. She was a dedicated mother to her three children, Tiffany Rogers and her husband Dewayne Rogers, Kevin Desormeaux and his spouse Charlene Desormeaux, and Todd Desormeaux and his spouse Chasity Desormeaux. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren: Priscilla Cleveland and her spouse Jonathan Cleveland, Brexton Desormeaux, Halton Desormeaux, Gentry Desormeaux, and Heidi Desormeaux. Additionally, she had the joy of being a great-grandmother to Lila Rose Cleveland. Judy also leaves behind many other loving family members and friends who will remember her fondly.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jay Roy Desormeaux, and her parents, Everette Lee Fontnow and Gloria Mae Greer (Barrow).
