Lettie "Jewel" Moody was born in Phelps Texas on February 23, 1921 and passed away in Cleveland, Texas on March 27, 2013, at the age of 92.
Jewel was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 68 years of marriage, Milton Moody, her two brothers, Carl and Herbert Watson, and her grandson, Brandon Obermiller.
She is survived by son Milton Moody and wife Brenda; daughter, Connee Obermiller and husband Lynn, daughter Patty Pike; She is also survived by her sister Doris Thomas and brother-in-law Hershal; sister-in-law Jewel Dean Watson; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a resident of Pasadena, Texas for 25 years where she was a member of the Thomas Avenue Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school for many years.
In 1980, she retired from Weingarten Inc. and then moved to the Cleveland area. There she became an active Life Time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cleveland VFW POST 1839 for the past 34 years. Lovingly she became "Mama Jewel" to all who knew her.
Jewel had a passion for cooking and serving others. She was a wellspring of love, devotion, and strength. She had an uncanny ability to make you laugh and loved being the life of the party.
Some of her last words to her daughter, were "I've been blessed".

Visitation for Jewell will be Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the
Neal Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas. Funeral Service will be Friday, March
29, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow in the Cleveland Memorial Cemetery.
