Linda Fay Evans, 72, of New Caney, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 in Kingwood, Texas. She was born on Thursday, November 27, 1941 in Livingston, Texas to Arthur Lee and Rosa (Stokes) Chaviers, both of whom have preceded her in death. Linda was also preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Chaviers. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 49 years Earl Evans; son, Keith Evans and wife Cindy; daughter, Kay Lynn Ferguson and husband Albert; brothers, Bill Chaviers, Larry Chaviers and wife Debbie; sister, Brenda Dougher and husband Bill; grandchildren, Chris Machen, Brandon Machen, Brett Evans, Heather Ferguson, Kelsey Moore and husband Craig, and Blake Ferguson; great grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicholas, Christopher, Maycie, Jace and Axle; along with numerous other loving family and treasured friends.
Linda graduated from SHSU, and then began her 30 years of teaching Home Economics for the New Caney School District; she also obtained her masters at SFA, during this time. She was a leader in the Future Homemakers of America and enjoyed her many years teaching girls and boys alike to become the homemakers and chefs of today.
Visitation for Linda will be held at Neal Funeral Home on September 3, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Interment for Linda will follow at 1 pm at Mt. Rose Cemetery, Livingston, Texas. All services were handled under the trusted care of Neal Funeral Home.
