Maria DeJesus Mata

Maria DeJesus Mata, 92, of New Caney, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017. She was born on Friday, June 20, 1924, in Linares Nuevo Leon. Maria was preceded in death by her loving parents Gabriel Puente and Maria Magdalena Rodriguez. Maria was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose Mata. Left to cherish her memory is her loving children, Pricila Astran-Villarreal and husband Manuel, Sarai Rojas, Elizabeth Moore, Josefina De La Cruz, Martha E. Botello and husband Jose, Samuel Mata and wife Ana, Jose Mata, Jr. and wife Herlinda, Joel Mata and wife Maria Guadalupe; sister, Trinidad Rivera; numerous grand-children; great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; along with a host of other loving family and treasured friends. Visitation for Maria will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm. Prayer service will be at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Interment for Maria will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery. Pastor Neftaly Rodriguez officiating.
