Mary Clay Beasley, 73, of Spring, Texas, passed away on July 9, 2024.
Mary was affectionally known to many as "Sister" and "Mae B", she was born on February 27, 1951, to Augusta "Jim" and Catherine Clay. She grew up in Cleveland, TX, and attended Cleveland Public Schools. While in Cleveland, she met and married Rileigh "Mitchell" Beasley.
Mary accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Christian faith. Mary learned to play piano as a child and it was a hidden talent not many knew she had. She was an all-things sports fan with a love of the Houston Rockets, the Astros, and the Houston Texans, but she was most known for being an over-the-top all-things Dallas Cowboys fan. Mary was an impressive cook, she made the best chicken and dressing, homemade sweet potato pies, coconut, and German chocolate cake for the holidays until her health no longer allowed her.
Most importantly, Mary was a two-time breast cancer and two-time stroke survivor. Mary had a deep love for her entire family and had a soft spot for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was employed for over 20 years by Wal-Mart and retired and then started a second career with H-E-B pantry where she worked until she was forced to medically retire.
She is survived by her husband, Rileigh "Mitchell" Beasley; Son, Mike Clay; Daughter, Charlott Clay-Latin; Son, Ronald Clay; Son, Craig Beasley; Bonus Children, Sonya Marbley (Courtney), Nneka Bruce (Rupert), Courtnea Cotton, Michelle Williams (Royce), Niles Kirkendoll; LaSonya Clay (Frederick); Sisters, Audria Adams (E.J.), Barbara Clay; Brothers, James Clay (Flora), Eddie Clay (Linda), Arthur Clay (Marilyn), Curtis Clay; Sister-in-law, Niles McKellar; and host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Augusta "Jim" and Catherine Clay; Brother, Charles Clay; Aunts and Uncles, Louisa and Roy Jackson, Daniel and Oligie Jackson; Mother-in-law, Eva J. Beasley; Son-in-law, Cazell Latin; Nieces, Tonya R. Lindsey, Tamesha Clay; and granddaughter, Olivia Bruce.
Services to honor Mary's life will take place at Neal Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Golden Place Cemetery.
