Melva R Herndon

Melva R. Herndon, 77, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 in DeRidder, LA. She was born on Wednesday, February 2, 1938 in Diboll, Texas to Lloyd Henry Small and Allie (Stepherson) Small, both of whom have preceded her in death. Melva was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Benny C. Herndon; Her son, Benny C. Herndon Jr.; Sisters, Geraldine Millican, Janet James, Dollie Millican, and Mary Torbert; Left to cherish her memory is her three daughters, Sheryle Phillips and husband Jeff, Glenda Vick and husband Andy, and Brenda Meadows and husband Gary; Her brother Harold Small and wife Juanita; Her two sisters, Wanda Loving, and Jonnie Larsen; along with 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren with 1 on the way; and numerous other loving family and treasured friends. Visitation for Melva will be held at Neal Funeral Home on February 7, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Interment for Melva will immediately follow at Wells Cemetery. Officiating, Reverend Gary Meadows.
