Michael Dezso Martin

Michael Dezso Martin, 71, of Shepherd, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 1, 2015. He was born on Saturday, August 19, 1944 in Livingston, Texas to Bert Elmer Martin and LaVeda L. Findeisen, both of whom have preceded him in death. Michael was also preceded in death by his daughters, Mollie Doreen Martin and Mandie Dawn Martin. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 50 years Sue Martin; a son, Michael Anthony Martin and wife Charity of Shepherd, Texas; a daughter, Melanie Desiree Hobgood of Katy, Texas; son-in-law Clifton Hobgood of Huntsville, TX; brothers, Tony Martin of Sarasota, FL; Tom Martin and wife Christine of Sparks, NV; grandsons, Dustin Martin, Jordan Hobgood, Patrick Dishman, Jackson Hobgood; granddaughters, Savannah Martin, Samantha Martin, Taylor Milner; along with numerous other loving family and treasured friends. Visitation for Michael will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Friday November 6, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Splendora First Pentecostal Church at 10:00 am. Interment for Michael will immediately follow at Farley Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Ronald Culberth, Rev. Ronnie Culberth, Rev. L.E. "Preacherman" Williams officiating.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman for 4 years during the Vietnam conflict. During his service he received one of the highest honors, Meritorious Mast.
