Oletha Denham, 93, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at the Cleveland Health Care Center, in Cleveland, Texas. She was born in Wilson, OK, Wednesday, March 21, 1923. Her parents were Alfred and Hattie Bruce.
She married Clyde Denham on March 6, 1942, in Webster, Texas. Clyde worked for the railroad, but, most of his life he was a carpenter; therefore, the family lived in various towns in Texas and California. They had six children - four sons and two daughters.
Oletha had little formal education, but, was very talented at many things - cooking, sewing, repairing and even building some things and raising six children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Denham; sons, Joe L. Mathis and Edward Denham; parents Alfred and Hattie Bruce; one brother, Marile Bruce; and four sisters, Alene Taylor, Louise Holder, Winona Yarnell and Patsy Truitt.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Denham and wife Becky of West Columbia, Texas, and Al Denham of Bay City, Texas; daughters Vickie Denham of Pflugerville, Texas, and Carol Clements and husband Russell, of Cleveland, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; along with other loving family and treasured friends.
Services and burial will be held at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens on Friday, March 03, 2017, at 11 AM, under the direction of Neal Funeral Home. Sister Sue Matthews officiating.
