Pearly June Viets, was born on May 10, 1941 in Mountain Home, Arkansas to parents Anna Mae Studdard and Wallace Pierson. She passed away on February 24, 2025 in Shepherd, Texas at the age of 83.
She went by many names, but rarely Pearly! She was June, Mom, Grandma or Gigi to her family and friends. A great portion of her life was spent as a seamstress and quilt maker. There are many people across several states who are proud to own one of her beautiful heirloom creations that she carefully designed, cut and stitched with care.
She loved a good road trip and rarely drove past a junk shop without stopping. One of her favorite times of the year was Thanksgiving when she would cook for everyone and host the large family gathering at her tiny little, well-kept home in Shepherd. She especially loved all the children of her boys and you would often find her sitting on the floor playing Legos, pulling out trucks or setting up a night-night sleep over with a tent in the living room!
Everyone who knew her felt her love and kind spirit and she left an imprint on a lot of hearts.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip; sons, Jimmy and Richard; brother, CJ; sisters, Betty Mae and Goldie Sue; and granddaughter, Kelly. She is survived by her sons, George Jacot, Carl Viets and wife Heather; grandchildren, Mitzie Prince and husband Darrell, Christopher Viets, Jimmy Viets and wife Esther, Chris Jones, Waylon, Angela & Katelyn Lejeune, Andy Jacot, Brian Jacot and Brandon Jacot, and a wonderful handful of great-grandchildren.
