"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" Isaiah 41:10.
Richard Wayne Cangemi, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on July 26, 2024. He was born on March 31, 1950, in Houston, TX. Richard will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Richard led a life filled with simple pleasures and genuine connections. He found joy in hunting, fishing, and shooting guns, pursuing his passions with enthusiasm and skill. These hobbies were not just pastimes for Richard; they reflected his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors.
The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.” These words bring healing to our hearts as we remember our loved ones who have passed away, affirming that their departure was right.
Richard, the man I called Dad, was a paragon of virtue and integrity. He embodied the values of compassion and kindness, and his presence made everyone feel welcome. He put my needs above his own and ensured I was always treated with respect. His unwavering love and dedication to his family was evident in everything he did.
He has answered the summons that sounds for all people, for we are sojourners upon this earth, and our times are in God’s hands. We lose our hold upon life when our time has come, just as the leaf falls from the bough when its day is done. The deeds of the righteous enrich the lives of men, like fallen leaves that enrich the soil beneath. The dust returns to the earth, but the spirit lives on with God’s eternal years.
Though our beloved dead are not seen with mortal eyes, they shine on into the untroubled firmament of endless time. Let us be thankful for the companionship that continues in love, stronger than death and spanning the gulf of the grave. Cherishing Richard’s memory, let us, in the presence of this gathering, sanctify the name of God.”
In his journey through life, Richard was surrounded by a loving circle of family and friends who meant the world to him. He is reunited in heaven with his parents, Johnny Cangemi and Hazel Cangemi; wife, Debra Kay Cangemi; brothers, Roger Cangemi and Robert Cangemi; sister, Carolyn Cangemi; and other departed loved ones.
Leaving behind cherished memories are Richard's surviving family members, his son, Douglas Cangemi and his wife Dana; brothers, Johnny Cangemi and his wife Bonnie, David Cangemi and his wife Anita, and Mark Cangemi and his wife Marilyn; sister, Diane Hester; as well as his adoring grandchildren, Olivia Machell Cangemi, Nathan Wayne Cangemi, Madison Vitro, Jonathan Peters, Austin Zepeda, and Joshua Flores; along with many other loving family members and a host of friends.

This will be followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM the same day.
