Richard Scott Langston, born on February 28, 1968, in Merced, California, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, in Cleveland, Texas, surrounded by his beloved family. He was a remarkable man who touched the hearts of everyone who knew him.
For 12,105 days totaling 33 wonderful years, he shared his life with his loving wife, Angela Brumley Langston. Their enduring union is a testament to the love they nurtured over the years, as they built a family resilient in the face of life's challenges. Richard was a devoted father to Alexander Scott Langston and his wife, Kendrea, as well as Madison Paige Langston Spear and her husband, Cody. His joy expanded with the arrival of his granddaughter, Waylan Jane Spear, who brought an extra glimmer of light into his life.
Aside from his devotion to family, Richard found peace and joy in life's little indulgences. He had a passion for good whiskey, loved watching NASCAR races, and enjoyed the thrill and tranquility of fishing, and porch sitting, watching nature. Those moments were often seasons of laughter and relaxation, soaking in the beauty of life around him. He was a caring husband, a devoted father, and a loving Grumpy.
Richard's legacy includes loving siblings, Rosa Langston, Pamela Dinsmore, Donna Landry, and Edward Langston. He is also survived his mother-in-law, Frances Brumley, and numerous other family members and friends who will forever treasure the time shared with him.
He was preceded in death by his honorary parents, Ronnie Marsh Sr. and Wanda Marsh along with his father-in-law, Canie Brumley. Their memories remain woven into the fabric of the love Richard cultivated in his lifetime.
A memorial service to honor Richard's life will be held on October 5, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas. The service will commence at 2:00 PM, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather and celebrate a man who embodied love, warmth, and unwavering dedication to those he cherished.
Richard leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and joy, reminding us all of the beauty of family and the simple pleasures in life. His spirit will forever be a guiding light in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
