He had a love story that began from the very first moment he laid eyes on his wife, Emily Katherine Thompson, he knew she was "the one". Their bond flourished over 56 beautiful years, marked by shared laughter and unwavering support.
Robert was a family man who relished in the company of his loved ones, especially his daughter Ann Giesecke and her husband John Salmons. He took immense pride in his grandchildren, who brought joy and light into his life: Emily Mercado and her husband Dylan, Kenneth Giesecke and his wife Annalyssa, Nick Giesecke, Chad Keen, Grace Keen, and Maddie. Though he faced the sorrow of losing loved ones, including his parents - Charles Corneilis Giesecke and Mary Lou Lee, his daughter, Karen Elaine Mizell, and his grandson, Kyle Giesecke - Robert maintained a zest for life. He enjoyed simple pleasures, including his favorite bourbon, Shiner beer, and classic Western films, particularly those starring John Wayne. These interests were not just pastimes but reflections of his character and the warmth he brought to every gathering.
