Robert Lester Johnson, Sr., 74 of Shepherd, Texas passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017. Robert was born on Saturday, July 25, 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts to Lester Martin Johnson and Eleanor (Cobb) Johnson. Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served 2 terms. He enlisted in the Navy on December 30, 1960 and was honorably discharged on December 14, 1964. Robert then re-enlisted on May 24, 1974 and served his country during the Vietnam War. He received a second honorable discharge on July 22, 1977. Robert is also a retired fire inspector where he worked at the U.S. Army Base at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Robert is survived by his children, Robert Johnson Jr, and wife Kimberly, Martin Johnson and wife Patricia, and David Argiro. He is also survived by his siblings, Richard Johnson, Martin Johnson, Nancy Sherlock, and by his nephew, Joseph Niemiec along with their families; by his Grandchildren, Lisa, Tori, Samantha, Cheyenne, Savannah, Gracie, Shelby, Shawn Jr., Kori, and Eric; and 2 Great-Grandchildren, Harper Leigh and Timothy, as well as many other family and friends.
Robert is reunited in Heaven with his daughter, Michelle Lynne Johnson, wife Marsha Ann Johnson, the mother of his children, Sandra Jeanne Haderxhanaj, and his mother and father, Lester and Eleanor Johnson.
Robert truly made an impact on his family and country. He cared about people and loved having us all as his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered by his laughter, unique personality, and his love for each of us.
