Steve Edward Wanza, sunrise was February 18, 1946 in Galveston, Texas and his sunset was July 26, 2019 in Houston, Texas at the age of 73. He was born to Lillie Pearl (Davis) Wanza and Lee Arthur Wanza. Steve attended Douglas High School in Cleveland, Texas and then went on to get his Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Wylie College and Prairie View A & M. He served as Dean and loved helping young people to achieve their dreams. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Sean Gardner. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Dedra Cavaness Wanza; children, Stevie Hopkins and wife Jacqueline, Ursula Wanza, Rashaan Cook, Nakita Wanza, Montra "Ron" Robinson and wife Latronda, Dianca Wanza and Deon Wanza; grandchildren, Jameko Lowe, Stephen Hopkins, Ariana Rittenhouse, Ariel Rittenhouse, Bryon Rittenhouse, Aaron Rittenhouse, Nikki Cook, Laila Cook, Javian Robinson, and Isaiah Robinson; great grandchildren, Cameron Lowe, Mia Peoples, Amari Bratton, Journee Rittenhouse, and Olivia Street; sisters, June Hadnot, Katherine Fisher and husband Luther, Jean Rushing and husband Albert; nephews, Kory and Jason Hadnot. Visitation will be Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Neal Funeral Home from 12 -2 pm with his Celebration of Life service starting at 2 pm with Rev. Curtis Brown officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the US Army. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Mozel “Duke” Cleveland, Don Cluff, Jason Hadnot, Kory Hadnot, Stephen Hopkins, Jameko Lowe, Byron Rittenhouse, Isaiah Robinson, Javion Robinson, Robert Wiley, Jackie Robinson, Charles Armstrong, and Michael Jones.
