Verdie S. Richard

Verdie S. Richard, 86, of Cleveland, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014. She was born on Thursday, November 24, 1927 in Cleveland, Texas to Roy Sthram and Henrietta (Watson) Strahan, both of whom have preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Roy Allen Jordan, Sr. and grandmother Minnie Watson; Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 39 years Edward Richard; daughters, Judy Bennett and husband Gerald, Pamela Deats, and Margaret McNease; sons, Henry Deats III, Claude Deats and wife Nelva Jo, Danny Deats; brother, Gurvis Strham; sisters, Etra Middlebrook, Oweda Coufal and husband Joe, Eloise O'Conner, Dixie Lewis, Lorretta Strahan, Delita Strahan; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; along with numerous other loving family and treasured friends. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed. Visitation for Verdie will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Monday March 17, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 1st Baptist Church, Cleveland, TX at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
